lizbeth (holm) gage
Liz loves creating all kinds of art from illustrating books to Norwegian Rosemaling, to her Equine Art. She loves telling the story of how she flunked art in High School because she rolled her eyes at something the teacher said. If only her teacher could see her now!
It is often said, “Liz can do anything that has to do with art.” She works primarily in oil, acrylic, and watercolor.

David gage
Dave drew his first portrait at the age of nine when he used a photo of Abraham Lincoln in his families encyclopedia set for reference. Besides portraits, David has always been drawn to creating the beauty of the world around him through portraits, landscapes and wildlife art. He primarily focuses on paintings in oil and acrylic, and drawings in charcoal.

better together
Dave and Liz were married in 1973 in Racine, Wisconsin. They met at church and quickly discovered how much they had in common. Beyond their shared commitment to honor and follow Jesus wherever He would lead, they also shared a deep love for art—one that only grew stronger as they built their life together.
For decades, they have devoted themselves to creating custom fine art from their clients’ photographs—transforming meaningful moments, loved ones, pets, favorite places, and once-in-a-lifetime memories into one-of-a-kind works of art. Whether it’s a portrait, a beloved animal, a special landscape, or a scene that holds deep personal meaning, their passion has always been about more than painting—it’s about preserving what matters most.
For many years, they worked side by side, each developing their own skills and artistic voice. They never imagined they would one day work on the same painting… until a mural project for a restaurant in Charlotte, North Carolina changed everything.
The mural—a large sailing vessel stretching across an entire dining-room wall—became a turning point. Dave began painting the bow, while Liz started on the stern. As the work unfolded, they suddenly realized they had crossed into each other’s space. Without even noticing, each was refining what the other had begun.
Instead of stepping back, they leaned in.
That moment revealed something special: their individual strengths didn’t compete—they complemented. What began as two artists working side by side became a true artistic partnership. Today, that same process shapes every custom piece they create from photographs—carefully blending their talents, refining every detail, and honoring the story behind each image.
Every artwork they produce is not just a painting, but a collaboration—with each other and with the client—crafted to preserve memories in fine art.
